Topic: A Day in the Life of a Divorce and Family Law Attorney

Well, Hi again.  Thanks for joining me once again on my daily blog.  Today was actually a very boring day in the life of a divorce lawyer.  I have a hearing tomorrow in Socorro, New Mexico.  It's a difficult thing going into a town where I'm a stranger.  Many times what happens there is that an Albuquerque divorce attorney will get "home towned".  What exactly does that mean?  I'll tell you.  It means that since we are not from that particular town, the balance seems to be tipped ahead of time in favor of the home town attorney.  I must clarify, however, that this does not apply to all out of Albuquerque Judges.  Judge Mathis for example is very fair.  Judge Sam Sanchez in Taos is extremely fair.  Judge J.C. Robinson is another stellar example of what a Judge should be.  Judge Ortiz in Santa Fe, NM is very very good as well.

Tomorrow in Socorro, I don't know who this Judge is, I've never appeared before him so I can only hope that he is going to be fair.  I always say that I don't want favoritism, I just want what is FAIR.  That's not asking for too much.  At least I don't think so.  I will let you know tomorrow how it goes for me.  I'm ready for the hearing but not knowing what's going to happen is always a bit bothersome.  So we'll see.

Overall, though, it was a great day at the office.  Everybody is happy at The Family Law Firm.  That's so cool.  It was hard to get such a great team but now that we're there it's a wonderful place to work.  Just ask anybody who works here!

I'll see you tomorrow.  Felissa
