Topic: A Day in the Life of a Divorce and Family Law Attorney
After those two big trials in June I needed time off so I took three weeks off. But don't misunderstand - a 3 week vacation for me means that I worked from home about 3/4 of that time! On Tuesday of this week I actually went physically back in to work and it was actually not so bad, just extremely busy. I made peace with an opposing attorney, I went to Court twice and finished a lot of projects and work that was pending. I'm amazed at how well my staff maintained the operation of the Firm while I was gone. They did such an excellent job. I'm going to San Francisco the week of August 3 with my kids and hubby and the in-laws and I feel so good that I know my Firm will continue to run smoothly while I'm gone.
I had one hearing in front of Judge Walker that went very well and I had another one in front of Judge Lavelle which also went very well. Both clients from both different hearings hugged me after the hearings because they were so happy! That was cool. Sometimes I feel hesitant or too tired to go to Court but when I end up going, everything turns out great and it makes me feel so good that I can help people with their lives.
It's the weekend so I've got to go and finish up a Memorandum in Opposition to Summary Dismissal in a case I have pending in the Court of Appeals. So that's what I get for taking time off. I will be busy working this weekend! Have a great one. Felissa M. Garcia
