Topic: New Mexico Divorce and Family Law Real Life Cases and Judges

A father in a case has been threatening to hurt the Mother and so Mom went today and asked for a Restraining Order so he won't hurt her.  So here's what happened.  Judge Deborah Davis Walker entered an Order of Protection (Restraining Order) for 72 hours only.  After that it expires.  In addition, Judge Walker didn't set a hearing on that issue until NEXT Wednesay.  So in the meantime, after 72 hours, the Dad is free to go near Mom even though he has threatened to hurt her.  I will give you an update after the 72 hours and after the hearing next Wednesday.  What are your thoughts?
