Oh Wonderful End of Week

Topic: My Daily Personal Life, by Felissa M. Garcia

Thanks to the excellent care I have received from all my medical providers at Presbyterian Medical Group, and my own determination to feel better and start living my life, I am having wonderfully happy and joyful days!

This week at work was actually fun.  I find myself on the side of Family Law cases where I am on the "good guy/gal's" side of the case.  I've had so many cases where I represented the bad guy that being on the good side is feeling pretty darn good.

We have a great weekend planned too.  Tonight is my grandson, Anthony's, Harvest Festival at his school so we went out the other night and got him two costumes so he can have one for the parties he's going to and one for trick or treating.  I liked the zombie costume he got, it was really cool.  And he got an Iron Man costume too for Halloween to be celebrated here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Then tomorrow is my niece Anissa's birthday/costume party and right after that I get to go read at San Felipe Church in Old Town since I am a lector there.  I asked to be assigned to Saturday night mass at 5:30 p.m. so that's usually when I will read.  I enjoy doing that.  It helps me understand Scripture much better than if I were just reading to myself.

The best part of all of this is that I get to spend all this time with my sweet and loving husband and with my 13 year old daughter.  Remember, Zoya is 19 now and she's at Stanford University in California getting straight A's, and Tasha is 22 now and she's a Junior at UNM also getting straight A's, both of them making their mommy proud, that's for sure!  What's really interesting is that in as little as one year ago, if you would have asked me my priorities back then, it was work/money/profession first, kids/family second, health third, and spirituality 4th.  Now my priorities are different.  First comes spiritual, next my wonderful husband and children and grandkids, third is my health and 4th is my income/work/profession.  I am much happier now than I have ever been in my whole life.  And what is even more interesting is that even though my career is now 4th on the list, my clients are better taken care of and better represented now than they ever have been because I have placed the other things first.  It is counter-intuitive but it is what it is.  I am now actually enjoying my career more than ever before.

So off I go to get my weekend started.  I hope that you all have a splendid weekend and I might just take some time to check in with you via the blog.  Be safe and God bless you!
