Topic: My Daily Personal Life, by Felissa M. Garcia

Hi again. I can't believe that yet another week has gone by and here we are again on Sunday afternoon, just abreast of another Monday morning. I have spent time with my family this weekend so that always makes for a special weekend. Remember I told you I moved out of my old humongous house in Tanoan to move into a smaller house because Zoya is leaving to Stanford in a couple of weeks, and my oldest Tasha, who is at UNM, also left home when she got married? Well, yesterday, I went back to my old house to oversee the repairs and cleaning and I missed my old house so much I had a bad day all day long. So now, guess what? I'm thinking about moving back there. I know that sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? But I just can't help it. I love our new house too, but I miss my old one. I think I'll probably get over it and move forward with the sale but yesterday was hard. I get so attached to "things" and I think in my quest for spirituality in life, maybe those attachments aren't a good thing. What do you think? In the last few months I have learned that the only "thing" we should be attached to is God. That's not me right now, but that's what I've been working toward. Not much movement though because in the last few years I've grown so materialistic and dependent upon my identity on the "things" I have and do. I suppose the first step away from that is realizing that it exists in the first place, right?

Jacob, our Firm Administrator, just got back from his vacation to San Francisco. Just like me, he didn't want to come back. We both love San Francisco and are thinking how cool it would be to move over there. I'm planning on sitting for the California State Bar Examination in February. I suppose I should start studying now if I intend to pass it! I've heard it's one of the most difficult exams in the country. I'll start looking into my study courses tomorrow. But don't worry, I plan on living primarily here in good old Albuquerque New Mexico where my family and Family Law Firm are.

Have a great rest of your weekend and I'll talk to you soon.  Felissa M. Garcia
