What a Tuesday!

Topic: My Daily Personal Life, by Felissa M. Garcia

This morning was awesome again.  I woke up at 5 a.m. and meditated for one-half hour.  I just started a new level of meditation.  Right after that, I went to the Academy School track and walked/ran three, yes you heard me right, THREE miles!  I am so so so excited about that.  Goodness knows I've been working my bahankas off to get to this point so now I'm running again.  I hope I'll be ready to run the half Marathon in San Francisco in July.  Of course, updates will be on the way.

Right after that, I went for an eye appointment with Dr. Bernitsky.  And no, he's not paying me for blogging about him!  It might sound like that because what I'm about to say sure sounds like a commercial.  He is one of the most professional individuals I have ever met and his office staff is absolutely incredible.  The gal who helped me at first and did all my initial testing was Christella.  That's such a beautiful name and she was so professional and nice too.  I was so impressed by the way they all performed their jobs so professionally.  The office is clean, organized and runs like a well oiled machine.  And no, I'm NOT getting my eye surgery for free!  I only wish.

So what's really exciting about all of this is that I have been wanting good vision for over 30 years now.  Yes, I know I'm getting older.  42 isn't too bad, is it?  Anyway if you think it is, you'll be there before you know it too so, quiet!  I can't even begin to describe how excited I am that I'm not going to need glasses anymore AND that I can wear all of my cool sunglasses that I have.  What neat technology that they can now actually fix your vision.  Unbelievable but great.

Everyone at the office had a good day today except for Gloria.  I'll tell you more about the office staff tomorrow (I know I promised it today but not enought time).  She was so upset today because a client that she really cared about and worked really hard for came in and was angry because of what's happening in her life.  The client let it out on Gloria and it was awful.  Gloria was crying and she was very upset.  I tried to explain to Gloria that in our line of work, we have to work our hardest for our clients, we have to give it our best effort, and we have to care about the client, but we cannot take the case personally.  It sounds impossible to do that, I'm sure.  But after awhile, doing thousands of divorce and child custody cases here in New Mexico, you eventually learn that in order to do the best possible job, you must stay focused on the case and on the legal and factual issues.  Gloria is a really good person and I felt bad for her.  She'll be fine and I'll make sure of it.

My head is really hurting from all the drops they put in my eyes this morning and for some reason I'm really tired....perhaps it's waking up so early.  But I'm not about to give that up.  I can't begin to explain how great that makes me feel.  You know when I was a little kid, my dad and mom used to wake up at 5 every morning and go to mass at 6.  Every single morning.  I went with them for awhile but I alwyas stopped because I couldn't keep getting up every morning.  I just realized, in this moment that I'm writing, that that's where I got the desire and goal to try to wake up every morning at 5 a.m.  It was from way back then!!  My dad always said how important it was to wake up early so every time I stopped doing it, I felt bad about myself.  So now the challenge is on.  I am going to give you an honest report every day of when I get up so you can keep me going.  Some people think I don't need help, but yes, I do.  And your help is welcome.  So far, so good.  I'm doing great personally.  The economy is kicking everybody's butt, however, I still feel happy which is such a difference for me.  Before I always found things to be sad, mad or upset about, and now, I'm writing in my Gratitude Journal every day and doing the things I love and I'm looking at all the great things and people in my life, especially my family and my Staff at The Family Law Firm.  I can hardly wait to tell you more about them tomorrow.

By the way, hello to some of you who texted me after you saw our blog yesterday.... Hi LaVinda you gorgeous you.  And Gene Gomez, the master appraiser who does a great job of it.  And my niece, Dolores, I saw that you called and I'm sorry I missed your call.  I hope you are doing well.  And David Griffen, hey David, are you a literary agent?  Certified?  Let me know ok?

By the way, and this is the end, you really need to help me get Oscar Calvillo, our Firm Administrator, to run the half marathon with me and Jacob.  I already signed him up for it and everything but then all of a sudden he backed out.  Come on, Oscar.  The clock is ticking and we're not getting any younger, hello.  Let's get him motivated to run it, ok?  Will you help me?  Well, so long for now.  My kids are waiting to spend time with me.  I love sharing my life with you and I hope I'm not boring you to death.  Felissa
