Zoya now at Stanford/I met a Legend

Wow it has almost been a whole month since I last wrote but it's because I've been busy letting go of Zoya, my 18 year old. We went to Palo Alto this week to drop off Zoya at Stanford University. Yes, of course I'm very proud of her and that she's going to one of the world's best Universities. And yes, of course, I am also very, very sad. It was very hard to hug her and say good bye, leaving her in front of her dorm, both of us crying. All I could think of was when she was born, her little brown hands, and then now having to let go of them so that they can reach for the stars. I am very grateful for the opportunity she has been given to study there and all I can do is be a grown-up Mom, and keep on moving on.

After we dropped Zoya off, my handsome hubby and I went back to San Francisco and spent a few days there, also spending time in Sonoma County. I have to say that the HIGHLIGHT of our trip was meeting a Legend while we were there. He was not only very nice to us, but I got to see the heart and soul of a good human being. Now that is something to see and experience. I think that in order to become a "good" human being, that person must have been through a hell of a lot of difficult, and wonderful, experiences to end up that way. Then there is the grace of God that one adds to the mixture, and voila, a rare and exceptionally good human being. I am grateful to our Host's hospitality and am grateful for an unforgettable experience at Chalk Hill.

Now is the weekend and we have gotten all of our errands done so now we're home to rest until the big day, Monday! I'm actually excited about going in to work and I hope to have resoundingly good news for you, but you'll have to wait 'til then, o.k.? I hope you have a great weekend and God bless you! Felissa M.
